Controlled Goods Agreement

High Court Enforcement Officers  and County Court Enforcement Agents will often exercise a right to put  in place a Controlled Goods Agreement
A Controlled Goods Agreement lists items of value sufficient to cover the amount of the debt.
In effect it  means that the bailiff acting on behalf of a creditor or court is using your assets as security until the debt has been repaid.
Whilst the Controlled Goods Agreement is in place you must not sell or interfere with the goods listed.
If you refuse to sign a Controlled Goods Agreement the Enforcement Agent can seize and sell the goods immediately
A Controlled Goods Agreement enables you to put a payment arrangement in place, typically over 12 months to enable you to settle the debt claimed by paying regular monthly instalments.
It is important that you pay instalments as agreed to prevent goods from being seized
